Will we never be rid of her?
Sarah Palin gave an interview to Esquire in which she continues to rail against the media and "pathetic bloggers"... but ends up just giving them more fodder with some insights into her reasoning such as:
Palin said she named Bristol in part for Bristol, Conn. — home of the sports network ESPN.

"When I was in high school, my desire was to be a sportscaster," she said. "Until I learned that you'd have to move to Bristol, Connecticut. It was far away. So instead, I had a daughter and named her Bristol."

Goodness knows I'm not an apologist for her... but I'm not seeing the issue here. She heard of the name of the town, thought it would sound nice as a name for a daughter, and frankly she's right. Not like she named her Hoboken.
Well, here's how I saw it:
1) Perhaps in a bid to once again convince us that she's just a small town girl, she tells us that she gave up her dream because she'd have to move away from Alaska. Gosh, did she know that Presidents have to live in Washington, DC?

2) INSTEAD of pursuing her dream, she had a daughter. That's gotta be encouraging for her child to hear that.

3) She NAMED HER DAUGHTER as a reminder of her failed desire. Nothing like looking into the face of your child and being reminded of what you didn't do 'cos you were too scared/unwilling to leave podunk Alaska.

And she calls bloggers pathetic?

So, the issue I have is this: once again, rather than stick to the subject at hand, she wanders off into more tall weeds and unwittingly (I assume) creates a whole new batch of fodder for the bloggers by imparting a story that opens her up for more ridicule.
I thought she was just telling a story about a name... but whatever.
